From January 2016 to December 2019, "Les Reprises du Mois" punctuated the year at The Queen Is Dead Records: 12 months, 12 covers, 12 guest artists.
 

Beyond the technical challenge, these covers were a great excuse to meet other musicians — experienced or not, instrumentalists or singers. Sometimes they suggested a song, sometimes I picked one for them from a tailored list. I pushed them beyond their comfort zone and usual habits. The results stand apart from the originals — often surprising — and each cover is a sonic snapshot of personal growth that the guest artists can be proud of.

Each year of covers followed a specific technical constraint to make the exercise as educational and enriching as possible:
2016: A year of getting to grips with new equipment. The goal was to make the covers sound as good as possible, while learning to master new tools and a new working environment.

2017: The challenge was to push boundaries, try new recording techniques, and explore unfamiliar styles, mainly centered around the guitar.

2018: Keyboards took center stage, with guitars almost entirely set aside.

2019: Everything was recorded with a strict four-track limit — a tribute to the classic 80s and 90s four-track tape recordings.
