Martin Lemoine
Strongly influenced by Jack Johnson, Martin Lemoine — known in his early days as Leyne — started out as a passionate folk musician. At first, Martin recorded mostly on his own, in his student room. In February 2017, he came to The Queen Is Dead Records to record his first EP. With Kevin Maribas on guitar and Amandine Alexandre on cello, Martin was encouraged by The Queen Is Dead Records to be bold and ambitious, so that his songs could evolve and reach the depth he had always dreamed of.
When you listen to Martin, you hear echoes of Tom McRae, the lyrical delicacy and quiet strength of Ben Harper, and the epic sensibility of Eddie Vedder or Alexi Murdoch.
"What If?", his debut EP, was released on October 19, 2017 — the logbook of an improvised, optimistic journey.
In April 2018, Martin discovered the ROLI Seaboard Rise and started experimenting with his first improvisations one afternoon. One sleepless night later, he had recorded an entire album, finalized with arrangements and production by Laurent.
The album, titled "Spectral Vision", was released in February 2019.
Fun fact: the original cover artwork (pictured), featuring reversed typography, was rejected by iTunes.
In September 2019, he released the single "Reflection of Myself", along with an experimental music video.*

Since 2020, Martin has been focusing mainly on instrumental work. He has successfully explored the art of orchestral covers, created podcast theme music, and composed his first original score for a Flemish short film, Onvoltooid Verleden Tijd.
